So I have been receiving a few inquires lately about the future of Otter Lake. I’m saddened  to announce that Haunted Hayride with Murder will be the last in the Otter Lake series. There has been some restructuring at St. Martin’s Press, and, as a result, my lovely editor was sent off to other pursuits.

I am extremely grateful to have had the opportunity to see Otter Lake in print, and the support I have received from readers has truly warmed my heart. My favourite part of the series has been the relationship between Erica and Freddie. I didn’t know when I started writing Skinning Dipping that their dynamic would become the crux of the series, but I’m certainly glad that it did. I will miss them!! I am also grateful for all that I have learned in the past few years. It has been a crazy time for me, and I have blundered my way through most of it, but the lessons I have learned are invaluable.

All that being said, I’m looking towards the future, and I have a new work in progress. It is pretty different from Otter Lake (think The Haunting of Hill House mixed with a little Discovery of Witches), and I’m ridiculously excited about it.

My deepest thanks once again to all the supporters of Otter Lake. I know the series was a bit out there for the cozy mystery purists,  so  every kind word about my hi-jinks meant the world.

I so sorry to hear the series is ending…it’s such a fun series! I recently won a copy of Haunted Hayride. Since I know it’s the last one, I will hold off reading it so that I can really savor it. I will miss Erica and the others! Good luck on your work in progress!

I just read “Down the Aisle with Murder” and I laughed so hard and loved the unique personalities of your characters, and loved how the plot kept me guessing. I’ve read a lot of mysteries, romances, and general fiction. I must say I do think you have a wonderful way of bringing out the humour and action with fresh, bold, straight-talking characters with quirky personalities! Please reconsider writing more books about Otter Lake!

Thanks so much Torrie. I really appreciate you taking the time to write me this. I would love to write more Otter Lake – and there is an outside chance that I might be able to make that happen one day, but I can’t announce anything yet:) Plus I need to sell a lot more books. Fingers-crossed!

We will miss you & all your great characters terribly. I hope the “restructurers” at St . Martin have diarrhea for a month.
