In case you haven’t heard, RING IN THE YEAR WITH MURDER is out this Halloween, and for the first time ever, I feel more excited about it than anything else. Normally, release dates make me really nervous – like stomach churning, barfing butterflies, I want to hide under my bed, nervous. That hasn’t been the case this time around (well, at least not so far), and I need to thank my readers for that.
Hey, I get that my sense of humor is not everyone’s cup of tea, but a couple of years ago I was pretty worried that my writing wouldn’t be anyone’s cup of tea. Since that time I have had a small, but awesome, number of readers, bloggers, and book sellers take the time to contact me and offer encouragement. I can’t tell you what that has meant to me – especially during those times when I felt like I had forgotten how to make the words do that thing where they tell a story. So, even though it feels really awkward to say, I am crazy excited to share RING IN THE YEAR WITH MURDER with the book world. I had a blast writing it, early reviews are good, and, as far as I can tell, pre-sales are the best they’ve ever been! For me. Not for like Stephen King or anything. Just to be clear.
Also, big thanks to my editor, Holly Ingraham, too – she really pushed this book to the next level.
Aaaand, big thanks to the authors over at Chicks on the Case. They invited me to guest post on their awesome site, and I had a lot of fun talking about 80’s Retro Humor.
Okay, so if you’d like to win a free copy of RING IN THE YEAR WITH MURDER, there is a Goodreads Giveaway happening right now. You can enter here.
I am also participating in a live chat at Night Owl Reviews, Nov 6. Details here. I will be giving away at least one book there – and you can laugh at the amount of typos I make trying to keep up with the questions.
Okay, I’m not sure if this is three exclamation marks worthy, but I’ve started posting on instagram. Come and follow me, and I’ll follow you back…maybe…like if you want me to…I don’t mean to make things weird 🙂 Heads up, though, I steal a lot of pictures from my supremely talented dad and his photo blog that focuses on my home town, Camera On King. I, however, am responsible for all of the bad selfies.
Oh! Oh! Oh! And lastly, reviews and ratings really help authors, so if you think my books suck, you totally don’t have to leave a review (haha…just kidding…kind of), but definitely leave a review/rating for the authors you do like. They’ll appreciate it.
